The beaches of Soustons, between lake and ocean

Whether you're a wave-lover, looking for safe swimming for the kids or a keen water sports enthusiast, Soustons has something for everyone!

The Plage de l'Océan: this immense 6-kilometre-long beach of fine sand is ideal for enjoying the waves in a wild, unspoilt setting. In summer, swimming is supervised. From the car park, a pleasant 10-minute walk through the dunes and forest will take you to this corner of paradise.

La Sauvagine beach (marine lake): the beach on the Port d'Albret / Soustons lake is a firm favourite with families. There are no waves or surfers here, just a gentle slope for swimming, supervised in summer. A shaded car park is just a few steps from the beach.

Soustons, the town of 5 lakes

With its five lakes and ponds, Soustons is an ideal destination for nature lovers and water sports enthusiasts. The setting is magnificent and there are activities for all the family to enjoy.

Lake Soustons / Port d'Albret

Situated between Soustons-Plage and Vieux-Boucau, the Port d'Albret marine lake is a nugget hidden in the forest and entirely devoted to seaside and tourist activities. The Pôle Nautique de Soustons Plage offers paddles, canoes, pedalos and windsurfers for hire. The Port Miniature puts its fleet of electric boats at your disposal: trawler, ferry, fireboat, military frigate, maritime police launch...

The Soustons lake and the Pointe des Vergnes

The Etang de Soustons is one of the five lakes in Soustons, around which the village and the Isle Verte leisure plain wrap. Here you can enjoy a wide range of non-motorised water sports such as sailing, rowing, paddling and fishing.

Don't leave without making a diversion to the Pointe des Vergnes, a park dedicated to walking, planted with alders, bald cypresses and American plane trees, some of which are 30 metres high. An ideal spot for a picnic!

Other lakes to discover in Soustons include Etang de Pinsolle (next to Lac Marin), Etang d'Hardy (the most secret) and Etang Blanc (between the communes of Soustons, Tosse and Seignosse).

Practical tip: The best times to enjoy the peace and quiet of the Soustons lakes? In the morning or at the end of the day, when the light is softer, for even more magical moments.
