Hossegor town centre
With over 150 shops open all year round, Hossegor is a shopper's paradise. The town centre is packed with boutiques selling local designers, top clothing brands, fashion accessories, shoes, surf shops and more.
Hossegor market
The Hossegor market is held on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings in the Place des Halles. Butchers, bakers, fishmongers, delicatessens, Spanish specialities, organic shops, fruit, vegetables, wines, cheeses... and much more. Tapas and a festive atmosphere on Friday evenings!
Art Deco villas

The Hossegor Casino
An emblematic building, the Sporting Casino Hossegor has a long history, having been inaugurated in 1932. People come here as much for the gaming experience as for the neo-Basque architecture of the building.
Hossegor golf course
Created in 1930, this 18-hole golf course, hilly and surrounded by pine trees, has trained many champions. The course is beautifully integrated into the town and presents a number of technical challenges (bunkers, trees, etc.).

In Hossegor, there's every reason to take to the water. The marine lake, ideal for swimming and water sports activities for all the family, offers a peaceful setting, while the ocean beaches will delight surfers.
The beaches of Hossegor
From the Plage de La Gravière to the Plage Sud, each beach has its own atmosphere. Bathing is supervised from May to September.
Plage Centrale is the busiest beach in Hossegor. It is close to the bars, ice-cream parlours and restaurants of the Place des Landais. For families, the South beach is protected from the bay and the rollers and has been awarded the Handiplage label.
Surfers will be delighted at Plage Centrale, Les Culs nus and La Gravière. Surfing championships are held here every year.
Hossegor marine lake
The marine lake, open to the ocean, is a must-see in Hossegor. It's a safe and refreshing place to swim in summer. The Chênes-Lièges beach is one of the prettiest beaches on the lake, where children can swim in safety. Water sports enthusiasts can go stand-up paddling, kayaking, paddle-boarding or windsurfing. Walk or cycle around the lake (5.8 km) and take advantage of the huts to buy or sample oysters on site.

Things to see and do in Capbreton in 1 day
Capbreton, heir to a centuries-old fishing tradition, boasts a rich maritime heritage and a lively port scene. Here are the not-to-be-missed highlights of your camping holiday in Capbreton.
The beaches: the Plage des Océanides is considered to be Capbreton's most beautiful beach. People come here to sunbathe, swim and play beach volleyball. Santocha beach has its fans, with its view of the mountains of the Basque Country. Perfect for surfers. Finally, Plage du Prévent, lined with bars and restaurants, is the liveliest.
The fishing port: the only port in the Landes region, it has been in operation for almost 700 years! It's also a lively marina, with restaurants, terraces and shops.
The fish market: at the foot of the harbour, you can buy fish directly from the fisherman. Each crew has its own stall selling sea bream, sea bass, red mullet, hake, anchovies, etc.
The estacade: the emblem of Capbreton, this wooden jetty dating back to Napoleon III, juts out into the ocean for more than 180 metres. Come and watch the waves crash onto the breakwater or admire a magnificent sunset from the jetty.
The Gouf de Capbreton: this underwater canyon, another symbol of Capbreton along with the estacade, intrigues visitors and scientists alike. To find out more about this geological curiosity, unique in the world, visit the exhibitions at the Maison de l'Oralité et du Patrimoine.
A boat trip: a unique opportunity to observe several species of dolphin, such as the blue and white dolphin, bottlenose dolphin, pilot dolphin, and sometimes humpback and blue whales. More info

Markets in Capbreton
Capbreton is famous for its lively and colourful markets. You can sample specialities from the Landes region, but also from the neighbouring Basque Country.
- The Capbreton market: a lively, bustling place where local traders and producers meet in the heart of the covered market and outside. Open every Tuesday and Saturday from 8.30am to 1.30pm, and on Thursdays in summer too!
- The fish market: at the foot of the harbourmaster's office in Capbreton harbour. Open all year round, every day from 8am to 1pm.
- The night market: in July and August, enjoy an evening stroll every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7pm. Rue du Général-de-Gaulle, rue Saint-Nicolas, rue Madeleine Castaing and Square Mouloudji.
- Gourmet markets: all summer long, the Allées Marines come alive with a gourmet market. Come and enjoy tapas, duck breast, oriental dishes, cheeses and charcuterie. Every Wednesday evening from 7pm to 10.30pm.
